10/22/12

Our travels are taking us farther south. We are heading to Sevierville, TN for the night. Thumper is happy to go anywhere she can get out and run or at least walk around. Sevierville is on the outskirts of Pidgeon Forge, TN (home to Dollywood, Dixie Stempede, and lots of shopping), along with Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains in the distance. Since we are here just for the night shopping was done up the street at THE KNIFE SHOP - Yup!! Two floors of knives, hunting clothing, snacks, etc. It was Sue's type of store. She headed right downstairs to kitchen knives. Skip just browsed around. I got nothing out of this trip. Skip was told Bush's Beans are made down the road a piece (yeh - about 20 miles). We got there late. General Store closed but managed to take our pictures Jeb

This is Bush's Beans factory

On the way back we stopped at Barbecue Grill on Route 66. It was okay. Fried Green Tomatoes were great. Skip said ribs were okay. He has had better.

This area has definitely grown since Skip and I were here 15 years ago. Construction all around. Lots more hotels, malls, helicopter rides, etc. The south is definitely on the rise in this area.
