Before leaving Corpus Christi, we took a ride over to Port Aransas. This is a quaint tourist town with shopping, restaurants, lots of fishing, and a ferry that will take you across the bay for free. Besides cars, the ferry can take trucks, trailers and motor homes.
There are some camping sites along the bay. In fact, we saw a couple of campers when driving around. One of the big "photo ops" is a dry docked oil rig. Getting in line to take the ferry back, cameras are clicking away, ours included. We stopped for shopping at this funky looking shop called "Gratitude". Lots of stuff inside and tiny bubbles blowing in their parking lot. There is also an "X" rated dish containing unique pins. I picked up one that said "I need a fucking vacation". Seemed appropriate for Skip and I since we are fortunate to be able to spend time a fair amount of time "permanently vacationing" on the highways and bi-ways of the U.S.
Afterwards, we stopped at Moby Dick's for lunch. Fun place! I had shrimp po-boy and Skip had their peel-n-eat shrimp with onion rings.

Skip went to candy store to get his "supplies". Lots and lots of candy. Also to remind you that you are in Texas, there is a rattlesnake in cage in the corner.
