We arrived at Yellowstone National Park. We are staying in Gardiner, Montana at the Rocky Mountain RV Resort which is located just 4 blocks from the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It took us 2 days to get here from South Dakota. We stopped for the night in Sheridan, Wyoming and Big Timber, Montana.

Yellowstone is breathtaking on the grand scale - approx. 2,200,000 acres. We are staying for one week and know we will only touch the surface of seeing this beautiful park. After settling in at the campground, we took a drive into the Park. We stopped at the Mammoth Hot Springs. There are walkways for tourists to view the many terraces of the geo-thermal springs. You can smell the sulphur and feel the heat.

Also in  Mammoth, you will be greeted with elk - they are all over the town - rangers make sure no one gets near them. They are like the "Walmart greeters" of Yellowstone!
This is also the beginning of the tourist season - all hotels, lodges, campgrounds are completely full!!!!!

Lots of driving to do - will keep everyone posted!!!!
